Not enough sleep raises risk of breast cancer
If you don’t get enough sleep, you could be increasing the risk of getting breast cancer.
According to a new study, scientists have found sleep disruption interferes with the production of melatonin. It’s a hormone that plays an important role in protecting women from cancer.
The study found women who regularly had six hours of sleep a night or less were 62 percent more likely to get breast cancer.
Researchers say melatonin, a hormone produced by the brain during sleep to regulate the body, helps suppress the amount of estrogen released.
