AMID rain, about two thousands Avon dealers and franchisers, City Government officials and students from different schools and universities joined the Avon’s Walk against Breast Cancer Sunday.

The participants assembled at the Freedom Grandstand for a short program and to get ready for the three-kilometer walk.

The Philippine College of Surgeons, Department of Health (DOH), John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFMU), University of San Agustin, Western Institute of Technology, Barrio Obrero National High School, Iloilo National High School and Jalandoni Memorial High School and Neil Lex Tupas joined the walk in connection with the newly launched Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer (KGBC) of Avon.

The walk aims to raise funds to promote breast cancer education and awareness, screening and diagnosis, and scientific research.

The walk with the theme “I Walk with 30,000 for a Healthier Tomorrow” was a simultaneous event joined in by fifteen other cities: Bacolod, Batangas, Cabanatuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cauayan, Cebu, Davao, Legaspi, lucena, Malolos, Manila, San Fernando, Tacloban and Vigan.
